Orcaville is a beautiful, fully air-conditioned pool homel located in a quiet cul-de-sac, in the gated community of Southern Dunes. Southern Dunes Golf and Country Club is a quiet residential area, located on Highway 27, 7 miles from junction 55 of the I-4. Being away from the hussle and bussle of the usual tourist areas doesn’t mean you are hours away form the fun! The theme parks are easily reached within 20 – 30 minutes whilst you can be on the beaches on the gulf coast in about an hour. The beaches on the Atlantic side can be reached in just over an hour. Orcaville is within easy walking distance of the large communal pool, tennis courts, play area and lake. It is also within walking distance of the 24 hour Walmart Superstore, a Dollar Tree, Dollar General and a bank.Orcaville is ideally placed for exploring all the attractions the Orlando area has to offer and allowing the whole family to have a truly magical holiday, no matter what their pleasures - be they fun, leisure, golf, park visiting, shopping or nature loving. Whatever the needs, you're only minutes away from itHaving 2 master bedrooms makes it ideal for 2 families sharing or grandparents. Having the 3 bathrooms takes the frustration out of having to share a home with teenagers who like to spend hours in the bathroom. I know, I’ve got two of them and boys are as bad as girls!
Orcaville has 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms and it sleeps 8 in private, plus 2 babies in the cribs provided. One of these cribs is large enough to accommodate a toddler. Each bedroom has it’s own cable TV and each bathroom has it’s own hairdryer. My home is spacious, light and airy and tastefully decorated and comfortable. There are books, toys and games to amuse you on the days you have nothing planned. There is now also a Playstation 2 complete with games for your enjoyment and free internet access.Outside the villa is the private pool, screened to keep out the bugs and with the option of heating. It’s so lovely to relax on the pool deck after a strenuous day at the parks and just listen to the sounds of nature. Or, why not take advantage of one of the CDs in the CD collection. Enjoy one either while relaxing by the pool or inside the house.About a 7 minute walk away from Orcaville is a 24 hour Walmart superstore. If you’re planning on a lot of shopping, be sure to take the car! There’s also a Winn Dixie, a Blockbuster and numerous fast food places. Restaurants are a few minutes drive away. If you’re feeling energetic why not walk down to the tennis courts and have a bit of a knock around. You don’t have to be a tennis super star to have some fun.Orcaville was so named because of my love for these majestic creatures and “Shamu's Shack” just didn't have the right ring somehow! Why not choose Orcaville for your holiday home and you’ll be sure of a warm whalecome in this home. Be sure to drop in and say hello to Shamu!SURROUNDINGSSouthern Dunes is a wonderful golf course, modelled on St Andrews, back in Scotland. As well as the immaculate golf course, there is also the golf clubhouse with its excellent full service restaurant and bar. Breakfast and luch are served everyday. Be sure to take a trip there on a Sunday morning to sample the breakfast buffet. A golf shop is also in the clubhouse for all your golfing needs. A large communal pool is available to all guests in the villa as is the clubhouse with a small gym. For those tennis lovers there are 2 free courts to play on and a children’s play area right next door so the children can play while you play. There are a few rackets provided in the villa but if you play really well you may be better off popping down to Walmart and buying your own.Walmart, a 24-hour superstore, is just outside the gates of Southern Dunes; about 7 minutes walk away from my villa. This store sells virtually everything you can think of. You can buy your groceries there, clothing, music, things to take home with you - in fact if you’ve never been in one before you could spend a good few days in there in sheer bewilderment. If you prefer to buy your groceries at Winn Dixie, that's just across the street from Walmart.For those of you unable to go without your favourite fast food, MacDonalds, Burger King, Popeyes, Taco Bell, Checkers, Quizno Subs and Dairy Queen are a very short drive away. For those who adore steak be sure to visit Manny's Chophouse about 3 minutes drive away. The rib eye steaks there are as good as you get at the Outback!!There is also a sports bar and grill in the shopping Plazza on the other side of the US27 as well as a liquor store.The Eagle Ridge Mall is about 10 minutes drive away and makes a pleasant day out. Go on Friday, Saturday or Sunday and visit the Flea Market opposite the Mall.INSIDE MY HOME:The spacious open planned living area is light and airy and tastefully furnished. One of the comfy sofas pulls out to become a fully sprung queen sized bed. A cathedral ceiling adds to the feeling of space. A remote control cable TV, a portable hi-fi unit (radio, tape and CD player) and a DVD player are there for your entertainment. DVDs can be hired from the local Blockbusters, a few minutes away. A collection of CDs are left in the house for you to enjoy during your visit. A wide variety of music is covered and the collection added to on each of my visits. I’m sure you’ll find something to sing along to and, of course there’s a bit of whale song and ocean sounds to relax you.The cupboards beneath these items house a large selection of books, games and some jig saws for your amusement. Enjoy a game of cards, cribbage or how about an evening with Anne Robinson playing The Weakest Link? Why not revisit some of those games you played when you were younger - there's a book there full of games, past and present.Off the lounge area is the formal dining area. This seats 6 people in comfort and is ideal for any type of dining be it formal or snacks as well as for sitting round playing one of the games. Also off the lounge is a sliding glass door that opens opens out onto the pool deck. Here you can enjoy the luxury of your own private pool, heated in the winter if you desire. Swim, play on the pool toys or just while away the time on one of the sunloungers – it’s all yours to do as you choose.If you fancy dining al fresco, there is a table and 4 chairs situated under the lanai for you to use. Breakfast is a great meal to enjoy beside the pool – soak up the sun, listen to the relaxing sound of the swishing water or the giggles of the children as they take an early morning dip. Evenings provide you with the sunset skies and the sounds of the insect life. You can enjoy their pleasant sounds knowing the pool screen will keep them away from you.The pool is a perfect place to relax after a hard day at the park. The ultra modern kitchen has every convenience - large cooker, microwave, dishwasher, waste disposal unit, fridge with freezer compartment and automatic ice maker, coffee machine, toaster, enough crockery and cutlery for 12 settings. Everything you should need including the good old British tea pot and tea cosy are located in the cupbards!!! Between the kitchen and the lounge is the breakfast area. Here there is another table and 4 chairs and it looks out onto the pool. Two majestic killer whales look down on you from the wall.Master bedroom 1 has a queen sized bed, tv and telephone. There is a large wardrobe, a chest of drawers and 2 bedside cabinets. A Playstation 2 is discreetly housed beneath the TV in here, so you can decided if the youngsters have use of it or not. A set of sliding doors lead onto the pool deck. This bedroom has an ensuite bathroom featuring a basin, toilet and walk in shower. There is also a door that leads out onto the pool deck. The second master bedroom also has a queen sized bed, a large walk in closet, chest of drawers, bedside cabinet and TV.The ensuite bathroom here features a sink, toilet and bath with shower over.Bedroom 3 has 2 twin beds, a walk in closet and drawers. It has been decorated with a whale and dolphin theme. The bedcovers have the whales and the curtains the dolphins. Drift off to sleep while leaping dolphins and an almost 4 foot blue whale found watch over you. A lot of toys will be found in the closet for the younger guests, as are books on whales and dolphins.Bedroom 4 also has 2 twin beds, walk in closet and drawers. This room has an air and space theme. There are photos, badges and other bits on the wall. Above the closet in this room is a large wooden propeller to add to the theme. Ideal for the budding aviator or astronaut - check out my Starfleet Academy certificates! This bedroom also has a toy box for my guests and books on aircraft and UFOs. These 2 bedrooms share the third bathroom. This bathroom has a toilet, sink and bath with overhead shower. All linens and towels are provided, as is a hairdryer for each bathroom.A large washer and dryer are located in the garage, thus avoiding having to listen to them when you're enjoying a bit of relaxation time. The villa is fully air conditioned and has the added benefit of ceiling fans as well. There is a crib for the smaller babies and a larger travel crib for older babies as well as a high chair in the villa should these be required. They are provided free of charge as is a stroller.There are 2 telephones and free local, long distance and most international calls to land lines are available from them.The friendly management company are only a phone call away if you should need them. They are available for emergencies 24 hours a day.Please read my guest commentsWe got back earlier this week. We had a wonderful time, and really enjoyed staying in your home. You've provided some very homely touches to your villa and we really enjoyed our stay. We had never explored South of I4 before and were surprised how much less 'touristy' the area was away from 192/International Drive. We particularly enjoyed the restaurant guide - a great idea. Southern Dunes golf course provided a relaxing walk in the evenings. We wanted to drop you a line to tell you how much we enjoyed staying at your villa. It's great and it was a very welcome retreat from the madness of the Theme Parks and bustle of the tourist traps! We really appreciated all the little things which made it far more than just a villa and more like our home. We had an absolutely fantastic time and no doubt we will be in touch soon to arrange our next stay - if you will have us! We loved the decorating.My boys loved the kids rooms and the pool! My older boy loved the huge orca and had to have it on the edge of the bed when he slept in there. It was his "friend". They loved the night light lamps, too, and the star trek alarm. They just really enjoyed all of it.We had stayed at another rental villa for two weeks before we stayed in yours, and although it was very nice there, we felt much more at home in your place. It was comfortable and we could tell that you put care into it. Also, the boys felt more welcome there, too. The other place was filled with glass tables and breakable decorations and I was constantly telling them not to touch - which to a child is hard to do.
