As you reach the end of the path, the lake will disappear and after crossing the bridge you will find yourself in the heart of residential Celebration.
Turn right and pass in front of half a dozen white clapboard houses with their fully furnished wrap around porches and balconies, before making a right in to East Lawn Drive (It will be obvious to see why it is known by the locals as Millionaires Row! ). You will now be able to pass in front of the houses which so far you have only admired from the rear and you may find that the house which had been your favourite when viewed from a different angle is pushed in to second place by its glorious neighbour. Admire the beautifully manicured gardens, awash with colour from hibiscus, bougainvillea, white lilac, and camellias, the pristine box hedges, the tidy lawns and the driveways leading in to small courtyards. Huge garages look large enough to house a small family! You may find some of the properties have “For Sale” notices, dont ask the price but you can make your choice just in case you have that lottery win!
As you near the end of East Lawn Drive, look to your left across the water, for a glimpse of the beautiful, newly constructed Corpus Christie, Roman Catholic Church.
Turn right at the end of the road heading back towards the centre of Celebration and take the next right in to Wisteria Lane. The homes here mimic those of its TV namesake (Desperate Housewives) complete with large porches and white picket fences. Take the first right on to Evalyn Drive and you will pass in front of the homes previously viewed from the other side of the lake earlier in your walk.
Complete the circuit of the lake and cross over the bridge to your left returning in the direction from which you have come. Continue straight in to Bloom Street and return to the centre of Celebration. You have now earned your right to sit on the rockers in front of the lake or to enjoy a Starbucks in their courtyard garden, or on a hot day in the air conditioned interior of the cafe.
The whole walk will take anything from 30 minutes (jogging speed) to 2 hours depending on your speed and the number of stops you take along the way. On a warm day don’t forget to take a drink you will need it!
