Old Town at Kissimmee, Florida is a great place to visit and among one of the many gems there (excuse the pun) is Black Market Minerals.

On entering the shop there is a wealth of beads and jewellery to keep you fascinated for ages, there is so much to choose from it is hard to make a decision on which you like the best.

They sell beads made from gemstone such as carnelian, tigereye, labradorite, sodalite, jasper, magnetic hematite, cats eye, lava stone plus many more. I liked the shell and coral beads, my favourite colours being a beautiful pink or stunning aqua.

There are also glass beads in bright colours, with fun patterns, great for youngsters. There is also a good selection of silver beads and my favourite was the 8mm Square Brushed Sterling Silver Beads

The strings of freshwater pearls either natural or dyed in an array of different colours are a real bargain for those wanting to make their own jewellery creations.

Moving onto the shapes of the beads, they come in round, rectangle, heishi, peanut, oval, heart, flat, hexagon, leaf, rice, cube, and oblong.

I particularly liked the Bamboo Coral Cube Beads, lovely little beads that resemble cubed carrots!

They also stock Stringing materials and chokers to enable you to create some fabulous jewellery

There is also a good selection of ready made jewellery, and lovely chokers made from pearl, shell, gemstones, and all in glorious colours

Of course, I could not leave this treasure trove without making a few purchases, so here is a description of the things that I bought.

My first choice was a Pink Blister Pearl Choker, just beautiful!

The next thing to take my fancy were the Foil Glass Pendants, such a display of gorgeous colours I had a hard time choosing one, but finally decided on an oblong shape, with aqua, royal blue and some gold to add sparkle.

My next choice was a lovely iridescent Blue Triple Strand Shell & Pearl Bracelet made from freshwater pearls, blister pearls and shell cubes. It was like 3 bracelets in one, and I have worn it many times and always get comments on how lovely it looks.

I would have loved to have spent more time in this shop, but we had booked a table in a restaurant so had to go…. but I loved it and will definitely go back next time I visit Florida, which hopefully won’t be too far away.

If you visit this shop, I bet you can’t come out without having to buy something.
