CHILIS AT CHAMPIONS GATE - Orlando / Florida Guide

Florida Guide > Dining

The Most recent addition to the Champions Gate Village is a new branch of the old favorite Tex Mex bar and restaurant Chilis.

Located next to the I4 at junction 58, it is a convenient location for the many via communities in the CR54 CR532 area.

We ventured in on a Wednesday evening around 7 pm and walked straight and were seated immediately. Our server came by straight away and within minutes we were sipping our drinks. I choose Martinis and the Cosmo was good but be warned it is a little strong! My dining partner tells me the diet coke was pretty good to!

We skipped appetizers as we have learnt the hard way in the past and being too full to enjoy our main meal! I decided to order one of the specials which was called Trio Grande which basically was 6 garlic and lime shrimp (which were quite spicy as they were dusted with Chili flakes), half a rack of Chilis famous ribs which were very tender but meaty and came off the bone easily and then to finish the trio there was a Cajun blackened chicken breast topped with bacon, cheese and tomato! The sides I choose were Home style fries and sautéed mushroom, onion and red and green bell peppers. I asked for mayonnaise which was not a problem either.

My dining partner settled on a Rib eye steak also served with Home style fries and sautéed mushrooms, onions and red and green bell peppers. The steak was cooked medium and was just right. The server asked us to cut into the meat whilst they were there to make sure it was cooked who we wanted, this was a nice touch. This meal also came with Texas Toast.

It was then time for another cocktail and I choose to order Strawberry Daiquiri and because this is a Margarita it is automatically 2 for the price of 1 and not just for happy

hour! This drink comes frozen and served with lime and is yummy but you have to be careful not to get “brain freeze” as they are so cold!

This trip there was absolutely no room for dessert after such a hearty meal but we will be trying some next trip and have already decided but we shal choose!

So if you are in the Champions’ Gate village neighborhood you got to pop into Chilis and see for yourself the great service and tasty food served!
