Over the past few months there has been a big transformation within Championsgate. Since we last visited there has been a CHILIS restaurant built just behind the petrol station. Chilis is located just after the slip road on Exit 58.
If you like Mexican food or spicy Caribbean food you are going to love Chilis. We have heard of Chilis before, but never managed to dine there. On this visit we went in the evening. On the menu there is plenty for everyone and more choice than most restaurants, as soon as we arrived we were greeted by friendly staff and seated on the bar area (as it was very busy!).
If you are a light eater it is not advised you go for a starter. We decided to have one and even sharing it we were pretty much full. Not a good feeling, as you still have a main course to come. We went for a combo of spicy chicken, wedges and salsa mix.
For the main meal you can choose between many meals (salads, spicy burgers, sandwiches, Fajitas, Burritos etc). Each dish can be made with, either Chicken, beef or fish. Most dishes are served with a side of fries, or for extra 90 cents Rice and spicy beans. This is a very good option and does make the main meal even bigger for not much more money. Why not try one of the Chilis signature dishes, these are the ones with a small chili symbol.
When you actually see how big the main meal is you really do wish that you have not had that starter. Even the salads are huge. Many of the starters would make ideal main dishes in their own right.
Service throughout was very good and we had drinks filled up without having to ask. If you are not driving why not try one of their signature Margarita drinks. Just be aware that you can feel very tipsy without even realizing it. They are a perfect after a hot day at the parks as are made with ice.
If you are on vacation in the area of Championsgate area there is not a better place to eat in the area, since it was opened it has proved to be a very popular place. The modern feel and great service also add to the appeal. With great tasting food and a reasonable price it is one of my favorite places to eat. Why not give it a go!
