The Tower of Terror is a thrilling experience like no other located in Disney’s Hollywood Studios. It is set in a hotel from the television programme ‘The Twilight Zone’.
To begin with you queue up in themed lines with eerie smoke being sprayed around and then you walk into the hotel’s ‘creepy’ looking lobby. This is all themed brilliantly and everything is made to look old and neglected. It looks like a real hotel, with sofas and big fire places only with cobwebs everywhere. Afterwards you enter another room – the Library. This is yet again themed to look like an old abandoned room in the hotel. You watch part of a TV episode of the Twilight zone, only this time, you are going to be the star in the show at the end of it! You then join onto another section which takes you to the lift, in which you will stay for the ride. A ‘bellhop’ takes you into it and talks for a little while saying things such as “this shall be the last time you ever see a bellhop”.
After this the doors shut and you begin going up. Then the doors re-open and you are at one of the ‘floors’. Here a little movie type thing is played. There’s a family and bellhop as ghosts beckoning you to come out – obviously so you do not disappear like them in the next lift.
After this you go up even further. The doors again open, only this time you move out of the current lift whilst seated. There are mirrors either side of you that then start playing images. The carriage turns round a small bend and then you are moved into another lift – this one is going to the Twilight Zone.
Next, you suddenly drop without warning, then you are taken up at least two more times (not always as high as the one before), but the number of times are randomised. So you do not know how many times you’re going to be lifted and dropped.
Following all of this, you then stop and some images play. Then you are taken out of that lift, and some words speak “Next time you think about checking into and abandoned Hollywood Hotel, ……. ” and you get taken to a door where you exit.
This ride is excellent and extremely well presented. A must do when visiting the park!Page added on: 13 March 2008 Author: Mr & Mrs Taylor (Villa link: www.orlandovillas.com /florida-vacation-rental-1009.aspx) We aim to provide acccurate and useful information, but if you feel anything provided here is not accurate or out of date, please email us with the address of the page concerned and any commments so we can amend as necessary.
