DON PABLO’S MEXICAN RESTAURANT REVIEW
Don Pablo’s is situated on International Drive down towards the Conference Centre area. We visited the restaurant on a whim as we had passed it many times on previous visits and had never bothered to go in, so fancying a wee change we decided to give it a try. We arrived at the restaurant around 7.30pm and were shown straight to our table by a pleasant young lady (The restaurant was ¾ full at this stage).
The table we sat at was beside the door and not the best table in the house as it was a bit drafty so we asked to move, the second table had 3 ½ legs, well it seemed that way so we moved again to a third table where we were more than happy, no draft every time the door opened and no shaky legs on the table! Our server was still smiling as we settled into our third table and had looked through the menu!
We decided to have some cocktails and sampled some Strawberry Margaritas, which I have to say we could not make our minds up about and had to have 2 more to decide ;+)! The restaurant had a full bar and you could choose from a multitude of alcoholic and soft drinks to suit all tastes.
We were given a basket of fresh Tortilla chips and lovely fresh tomato salsa dip; we got through the basket of chips and 2 lots of dips in the end! No need to have a starter as this did the trick. After perusing the menu for sometime, as there were lots of appetizing choices on display, we eventually choose and I ordered a dish called Conquistador, which consisted of many different Mexican dishes in smaller portion size, one was Beef Taquitos, chicken flautas, Enchilada Beef Burrito, beef Taco and chicken fajita! All this for just under $11! Hubby ordered the Mexican favorite, Fajitas. The food arrived quickly and was well presented and tasted excellent and even hubby enjoyed it. (I have to persuade him to eat Mexican as he says it is all the same…and to an extent he is probably right)!
The portions were just the right size as we were satisfied after the meal but not stuffed. We did not have dessert but they had a nice selection. The bill was really reasonable; the food was dirt cheap, the drinks bill being dearer than the food!
