Epcot – World Showcase – Norway - Orlando / Florida Guide

Florida Guide > Disney General

For priority seating call 407 939 3463

There are 11 countries in the World Showcase, Norway is the 2nd if you are going clockwise around the lagoon.

Entering Norway you walk into a beautiful picturesque town square carefully designed to represent the Norwegian towns and cities of Oslo, Alesund, Setesdahl and Bergen. The architecture along with added elements such as waterfalls help to create an authentic Scandinavian atmosphere.

There is a replica of the Gol Stave Church, which can easily be passed by as not everyone realises you can walk inside!
Being very cool inside it makes a good break from the hot Florida sunshine and gives you the opportunity to enjoy the exhibits of Norwegian culture and history.

The main attraction of this 58,000 square foot pavilion, and a simply must-do ride is The Maelstrom. Travel back in time on a dragon headed Viking longboat, through dark troll populated forests, passing mountain rapids and waterfalls. One of these trolls casts a spell on the boat and suddenly you are travelling backwards towards an enormous waterfall…then just as swiftly the boat moves forward again, after a short reprieve you find yourself battling a fierce North Sea storm before finally entering the calm of the fishing village.

Norway plays host to the popular Princess Storybook Breakfast - dine with the Disney’s Princesses: Belle, Jasmine, Sleeping Beauty, Snow White and Mary Poppins at the Restaurant Akershus.

Cinderella does not appear at the Princess Storybook Breakfast -- she ONLY appears at the Cinderella's Royal Table breakfast held each morning in the Castle in the Magic Kingdom or Cinderella's Gala Feast each evening at the Grand Floridian. Don't look for Ariel either.

For lunch or dinner why not try the smorgasbord style Restaurant Akershus. Native Norwegians will serve you and are very happy to explain all about the traditional hot and cold buffets. The cold buffet typically features items such as Shrimp Salad, Cucumber Salad, Potato Salad, Tuna Salad, Crab Salad, Smoked Salmon, Peel and Eat Shrimp, Trio of Home-style Herrings, Smoked Mackerel, Peppered Mackerel, Tossed Salad, Sliced Roast Beef, Sliced Ham, Assorted Cheeses, Beet Salad, Pasta Salad, Ham and Egg Salad. Hot items include Fresh Poached Cod, Grilled Atlantic Salmon and Venison Stew.

If you just fancy a pastry for a late breakfast or dessert you won’t go far wrong with Kringla Bakeri og Kafe. As well as sweet pretzels they do a wonderful creamy rice pudding that is served with a strawberry topping.
