Good Restaurants for Fish Lovers - Orlando / Florida Guide

The choices for meat and particularly steak lovers are enormous and it is rare to have any problems finding wonderful meals with tender steaks and tasty ribs. However, for vegetarians and fish eaters the choice at first sight sees more limited, but you could be in for a pleasant surprise.
We had not visited Manny’s in spite of the rave reviews because they all extolled the steaks and ribs and we have a non-meat eater in the family. In fact they do a number of wonderful fish dishes. The coconut shrimp are a firm favourite with my mother while my husband prefers the Grilled Terryaki Salmon, however, you will find your own favourites and there are also fish options on the Early Bird Menu. Of course the massive Manny’s salad and unlimited, freshly baked bread, is also part of the deal. Although you cannot book a table it is well worth phoning ahead to reduce queuing time. If you get there before 7 o’clock you will benefit from Happy Hour and get two for one on house, wines and certain cocktails.
An obvious choice is the Red Lobster which specialises in sea food. At the moment they have some Surf and Turf options which are very good value and they also have fish specials in addition to their standard menu. We like the fact that you can choose how big a meal you have here. Of course lobster is also on the menu and you can choose your own from the tank. The specials come in two sizes and you can build a menu with as many fish options as you want. The added bonus of the Red Lobster is the cheese biscuits which are provided. We love them.
Most of the Italian Restaurants also have vegetarian and fish options and our personal favourite is Carrabas. The nearest one to us is on the 192 heading West just past the Formosa Gardens area. The Pizzas there are baked in a traditional wood burning oven and the grilled Scallop and Shrimp are absolutely wonderful.
Moving on to Celebration, we always enjoy the fish at The Town Tavern. Unfortunately the swinging tables and chairs have now been replaced but the food is as good as ever. Our personal favourites are the Baked Seafood Medley and the Maine Lobster Roll. It serves snacks and sandwiches as well as full meals and lobster is usually available too.
