Bahama Breeze restaurant located on Hiway 535 by the side of Golden Coral.
The theme is Caribbean and the atmosphere is very laid back.
Service is excellent we visit this restaurant on a regular basis when in Florida, the food is outstanding.
If you want to try something different, try the West Indian patties as a starter you get 4 patties and all I can say is they are delicious, they have a spicy filling all wrapped up in a tasty pastry you also get a sour cream dip and a mango apple salsa, one plate is enough for 2 people.
The menu is varied with a wide choice to suit all tastes
The Coconut shrimp platter seems never ending as the shrimps are so big and juicy
There are a lot of fish dishes as well as chicken, pork and beef dishes
One of my favourites is the Margarita chicken this is chicken marinated in
honey, lime and lemon not forgetting the tequila. Is has tomato and corn salsa on the side you also get a good helping of the island rice. If you have got any space left for a dessert my favourite are the bananas supreme this is bananas and ice cream on banana nut bread covered with hot brandy and butterscotch sauce (mmm)
They do a drink there called Aruba red and it is billed as amber larger but I found it to be more like a British beer. It is very refreshing and nothing like anything I have tasted before in Florida. They also sell Guinness and other British beers and a wide variety of wines ect as well as hand crafted tropical cocktails
You can either eat in or out, the inside is set out just like on the Bahamas and has a very large open dining room and the out side has live music on each night
All in all it is a great experience the prices are not over the top but perhaps a little more than other restaurants but are well worth a visit on your next trip to Florida.Page added on: 18 March 2007
