A magical place to be on christmas eve - Orlando / Florida Guide

Last year we were in Florida for Christmas and the new year and what made it special was that we had all the family with us even the grandchildren aged 3 and 5 years
So what could we do to make it special?
We went down to celebration
The streets are full of snow and it snows on the hour and half hour. Everyone gathers in this area during these snow falls with music playing everyone was dancing and having lots of fun.
The restaurants are all in full swing for the holidays.
There are lots of restaurants but we chose Café D'Antonio, this restaurant was a winner of a Zagat award
Their menu was varied it has an Italian theme. The food was of a very high standard. We sat outside and they put on some patio heaters so we did not miss out on the fun, they also have a large selections of good wines
The lake opposite Café D’Antonio, had lots of twinkling lights and a walkway around the lake was just what we needed after the large meal
There were carriage rides where you could choose between carriages just for your own party or one for lots of people. The carriages just take you for a ride around the downtown area of Celebration.
There is also a Christmas grotto with the real Father Christmas and Mother Christmas
(Or as real as any I have seen)
He gave all the children a little gift and you can have a picture taken with him.
There was a group of carollers in costume to add to the festivities walking around all adding to the atmosphere
All the shops remain open at night so you could still get that last minute gift or just something for yourself.
There are lots of houses in Celebration that had dressed up for Christmas with lots of lights and decorations. It is well worth a drive around looking at all the houses there was some really beautiful ones.
All in all I would say is Celebration on Christmas eve is truly a magical place for all the family and a great way to start of Christmas.Page added on: 28 March 2007
