Mickey's Christmas Party
My family think I am a big kid when I get to Disney as I just love the magic!
For me, Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party is a must if we are there between the middle of November and Christmas.
Tickets do need to be bought well in advance as they do sell out early. They can be purchased via the Disney website or from a Disney ticket booth.
The magic begins at 6pm. The day visitors to the Magic Kingdom leave by 6pm so that Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party can begin!
The Park admits its evening visitors and the first thing that will strike you as you enter is the wonderful Christmas décor! The lights, the huge tree – and the snow that falls in Main Street and looks oh so real! You will already be in the Christmas spirit!
All of the rides are open so you can wander around the Park just as you would during a normal day – just remember though that the evening is a sell out so you may have to queue for rides. Probably a good idea to go to your ‘must do’ rides first.
Dotted around the Park are stalls offering complimentary hot chocolate and cookies – a very welcome refreshment!
There are two parades during the evening, designed to help families with young children who can’t last out the whole evening. We tend to wait for the later one as there are less crowds. Without wanting to spoil the magic for you – the parade is superb! Obviously has a Christmas theme with all the old favourite characters. The finale is simply magic! Santa Claus riding high on a sleigh which, in usual Disney fashion, has had such thought put into it to make it look oh so real………. it really does seem to be flying though the air! The faces on the watching children are simply magic!
The fireworks too are fantastic. The Disney display is always wonderful but this one has a few little extras. Fireworks that make pictures in the sky of smiley faces and wrapped Christmas gifts complete with bows! The crowd is enthralled!
As you make your way back to your car don’t forget to pick up a few Christmas momentoes from one of the Disney stores – perhaps a few Christmas decorations for your Christmas tree at home – which will be an a reminder for you every Christmas of your magical Disney Christmas treat!
