As villa owners our guests often ask us what are the ‘must do’ attractions at each of the parks. Obviously this does depend on the age and make up of your party however these are our ‘must do’ rides and attractions at Universal’s Islands of Adventure.

Many people mistakenly believe that if you’re not into riding the BIG roller coasters then Islands of Adventure is a park to give a wide berth to. Whilst it’s true that this park has an abundance of white-knuckle rides, it also has a fair few rides for smaller children and less adventurous adults, of which I am definitely one! However my husband and son love the really scary coasters.

If your youngsters haven’t already been introduced to the delights of Dr Seuss, The Cat in the Hat, Thing One and Thing Two etc, then it’s definitely worth reading them a few of the stories before you go, they will enjoy it far more with an understanding of who all the characters are.

The Amazing Adventures of Spiderman
This is an amazing 3D thrill ride, as you don your 3D glasses and climb into your car, you get to see, hear and feel the action in Spiderman’s latest adventure.

Incredible Hulk Coaster
This enormous green roller coaster seems to rise out of the park like a Floridian version of the Lock Ness monster.
I’m not brave enough to ride roller coasters that go this high in daylight, so I will have to rely on my husband and son to tell you that this and Kraken at Sea World are the two best roller coasters in Florida!

Dueling Dragons
These are two intertwined Roller coasters Fire and Ice. There is always great debate over riders as to which is the better but the general consensus seems to be that they’re both brilliant and it’s worth queuing twice to experience both of them.

The Cat in the Hat
As you ride your couch you will encounter all the high jinks and characters that you’ve read about in the famous book. This one is great fun for kids and adults alike.

Jurassic Park River Adventure
‘A chance to see Universal’s amazing dinosaurs in their natural habitat!!’
As you board your river raft for your amazing journey to view the dinosaurs don’t be lulled into a false sense of security, this is Universal after all!

Dudley-Do-Right’s Rip Saw Falls
Hop in your log and hang-on! As you plummet over Rip Saw Falls fear is replaced with water and plenty of it!
