My fantasy Orlando Theme park.
If you could build your own theme park, what rides would you put in there? In other words, select your favourite rides from all Disney, Seaworld and Universal.
I am going to start by choosing the wonderful safari at Epcot; it is such a joy to see so many wonderful animals in such a short time. And they all look so contented. I just wish the ranger would just tell you about the animals and quit the storyline.
Next, I am going to go for Soaring; the amazing experience without being thrown around. Please, Disney, give us a lot of alternative films to keep us interested.
I love E. T. it is so sweet soaring above on your bike and even the queue experience is lovely.
I am now going to opt for the duelling roller coasters at Harry Potter. I actually do not like doing it but I could watch it for hours.
I used to like Jaws, I know it was a bit flaky but there is something very sweet about it. Since this is my fantasy, I am going to resurrect it. With more realistic sharks, please.
My next ride is pure nostalgia; when we first visited theme parks our kids were little and were entranced by Small World and wanted to ride it again and again. Could equally be The Pirates of The Caribbean.
Mow for a couple of shows; It has to be Lion King, I am sure you agree with that. Also Beetlejuice which we have seen so many times and enjoyed (and also enjoyed a half hour of shade and sit down) And I think I will add in The Sea Lion Show at SeaWorld. The bit before the show is as entertaining as the show. Those of you who have , know exactly what I mean. For those that have not, get there early.
I always like the ball at the entrance to Epcot, so restful and so different so I have factored that in.
Now, I am going to be greedy and I want the finale to be a mash up of the 4 closing fireworks from Magic Kingdom, Epcot, Universal and Hollyood Studios and I want my park to be arranged around the lake at Epcot. And of course we must have Cinderellas' Castle. I am going to have City Walk plonked outside my park and a boat ride over from the car park.
Finally, I am going to plant lots of trees to give better shade for all us pale skinned Brits.
So the big question is, are you going to come?
