My first trip to the Nike Outlet
As you drive around the tourist areas of Orlando you will see many retail outlets and in many of the outlets you will find a good selection of factory shops
My first venture into a factory shop was when I spied the Nike factory shop, for people living in Britain this is an unbelievable sized shop selling nothing but Nike branded gear. As a person who did a number of sports and pastimes at the time (was it really that long ago) the lure of cheap Nike gear was just too much for me to resist and so I entered this sports wear heaven
I was immediately drawn to the huge range of trainers although some of them were last years USA models they were quite current UK models and boy were they cheap! Normally things in the USA are the same price in dollars as they would be in pounds in the UK, but these were even cheaper than that! Some were as low as 20 dollars although some of the top running shoes were 50 dollars the equivalent price in the UK was around 70 pounds upwards. A few pairs of trainers were tried on and 2 pairs were selected to purchase.
The next area for a visit was the running gear area where they had the proper technical material running tops and indeed there was loads of the proper gear, more items were selected. The next purchase was a track suit top, and lots of sports socks which were too cheap to miss even if I didn’t need any!!!
What next, well that was easy Nike had loads of every day T shirts with various Nike motifs, oh these were just too good to resist as they were about 9.99 dollars each, that’s just over a fiver needless to say about 6 tees were selected
Being in the Nike store for me was somewhat like a child being in a toy store, there were so many items from full tracksuits down to drinks bottles and wrist bands and so little time.
Of course there were the kids and they all needed trainers plus sports gear for school and for the football etc on Sunday, plus they could at last have a decent pair of Nike trainers without dad having to get a bank loan. Seriously though if your kids are into sport you will know they go through gear very quickly, either by wearing it out or by growing out of it, then factory shops like Nike are a blessing for parents
After at least 90 minutes in Nike we departed the tills and back to the car heavily laden with shopping bags
What next my wife asked, Reebok I replied, now that’s another story…….
