Disney, as always, have done an amazing job of decorating the park for the Christmas season. It's a fabulous show and just takes your breath away. There is no extra charge and is included in your day pass.

There is so much to see and do at the studios that that our day passed really quickly with a visit to see the Snow Queen in Narnia, a ride on the Backlot tour, a quick bite to eat then a fabulous time was had watching, “lights, motors action” stunt show and then a ride on “star tours” and soon it was dark.

This is when the park shows its fantastic display of the Osbourne Family lights. They are the most amazing display of Christmas lights that I have ever seen. We were standing in the middle of the streets which are located in the Streets of America city backlots, gazing in wonder at the flying angels high above the and realised that it had started to SNOW ! ! Everyone cheered and the young ones were trying to catch the “snowflakes” as they fell.

All the buildings were absolutely covered in strings multicoloured flashing lights – there must be millions of them! High above the streets is a 3 dimensional and motion based display, where high above are hanging brightly lit and beautiful shapes of angels, about a hundred and fifty of them, gently moving their wings in flight and lighting up the dark sky. There are shapes of Santa Claus with his reindeer flying through the sky. The little ones were amazed at this! There are carousels, Christmas trees and the traditional toy soldiers also in the designs, swirling and dancing in time to the music. There also hangs a huge twirling “Planet Earth” with “peace on earth” in bright lights above.

Disney have put so much into the display and the attention to detail keeps you finding more characters, little pixies, fat jolly snowmen, and scores of other characters, not forgetting the infamous Mickey Mouse. Also keep a lookout for the hidden Mickeys.

There are over three hundred and fifty miles of Christmas lights used, and the lights total more than 5,000,000.

We all had such a wonderful time and it made the festivities of Christmas even more special for us. We will definitely be going to see them again this year, as the children still have a vivid memory of the fabulous display etched firmly in their minds, and they could not bear to miss it.
