Planet Hollywood at Downtown Disney
Planet Hollywood makes its impact on the skyline at Downtown Disney west side, and is even more spectacular when viewed at night. It is an amazing building looks like a massive bright blue globe, sitting in a lake, with lights beaming out around to draw you like a magnet. It is a place you should visit at least once during your stay in Florida. It is open from 11am until 1 am the next morning, so there are plenty of opportunities to eat there.
Once you are inside the huge globe there is a lively buzzing atmosphere, and music videos to keep you entertained. The bar will serve you drinks and tasty cocktails while you wait for your table. Planet Hollywood is crammed full of movie memorabilia, and we had fun naming the films that we could see the costumes that were used in the filming. My children thought it was really cool to see “Herbie” the love bug VW and ET on the bike hanging from the roof of the building.
The menu has something for everyone including mouth watering appetisers such as blackened shrimp, Texas tostadas, Sliders, VIP platter and parmesan spinach dip. The main courses are delicious and I would recommend the ribeye steak, which was cooked to perfection. You could also chose sizzling fajitas, blackened Mahi-Mahi, rids or a range od delicious salads. For those with a snack in mind there is a selection of tasty burgers and sandwiches. The children’s menu is fabulous for your younger members of the family.
Leave room for the dessert!!! Mouth watering sweet endings to your meal are worth leaving a bit of room for! You can choose from Key lime pie- delicious, strawberry cheesecake- heavenly, banana split-superb, but my favourite is the double chocolate brownie served with chocolate and vanilla ice cream, hot fudge sauce and whipped cream – truly scrumptious!!!!! Tip; ask for an extra spoon so you can share.
If you can manage to find room I would recommend one of the cocktails, they are gorgeous.
On leaving planet Hollywood, don’t forget to take a look in the merchandise shop which is near to the entrance. There are some good souvenirs of your visit, and make good gifts to take home.
We really enjoyed our meal at Planet Hollywood with our family and friends, and often talk about the enjoyable meal, and the fun time we had there. The kids all came home with a planet Hollywood souvenir cup that they had their drinks served in, they love them!
