When planning a trip to Orlando it’s best to do some research before you leave. With the web it’s so easy to find out information and a great book to buy is Simon Verness titled “A Brits Guide to Orlando”. Not only does this contain great information and tips but it is also a great way of passing a couple of hours on the plane.

There are other books available on Orlando & Florida which contain useful information and is worth getting a sample of these as they may offer a slightly different prospectus on the same attractions. Florida has a lot more to offer than just Theme Parks, some of the best Golf courses in the World; fishing is a huge pastime in Florida with it being the most visited place in the US for fishing. Miles and miles and wonderful beaches are available on both coasts. Not to mention Kennedy Space Centre.

All the parks have their own web-sites which offer guides and descriptions of all the rides and attractions within the park. The Disney site also has an area with a description of their parades and show times. And what rides are closed for refurbishment.

If you are fan of saving money, then the shopping in Orlando is ideal for you as there numerous discounted shopping malls. The best of these are Orlando Premium Outlets, located on the International Dr. Buy your park tickets in advance this will help you save time and you could save a small fortune as well as help with budgeting, this web-site offers discounted tickets and we now buy all tickets from here before our trips.

The web-site you are currently on is also valuable source of information with their forum and the Orlando guide, this can either help you plan your first trip to the Sunshine State or help you refine your information for the season traveller to Orlando.

Another source of information are friends and colleagues at work, as we all seem to know someone who has been to Orlando already, at the risk of being shown hundreds of photo’s it is always worth sharing experiences.

Remember in any of planning you do to include some days of rest and relaxation as after all you are on holiday and the parks are massive and you could become foot sore. We plan a rough timetable of what we are doing before we arrive in Orlando, but we allow flexibility, i.e. for the weather, and maybe wanting to repeat something, like the first time we went to Typhoon Lagoon we loved it so much we went back the next day.

Within your planning and packing one essential item to include is sun lotion it can get really hot and protection from the sun is essential.
