This particular Wednesday evening mid October some friends had invited me out for dinner as it was to be my last night. I had extended my stay since the arrangements had been made that morning so I called to see if they wanted to go ahead or we could reschedule as they had been working all day and I was staying an extra few days now but no we went ahead with the plans and they arranged to pick me up at 6pm.
So off I went to get organised and was showered and ready when they arrived bang on time. We had not decided where to go and Down Town Disney and the Irish pub Raglan Road was suggested. I was pleased about this as although I have been there for a drink before we have not actually eaten there just the attached fish and chip take away located next door (Cooks of Dublin).
We arrived and only had a short wait for a table and before we knew it we found ourselves at the bar and I knew straight away what I was having, a chocolate Martini, it is yummy especially with Godiva chocolate liquor in it. The others had some of the black stuff although one was only was Coca Cola!
We chatted about this that and everything whilst we waited and then the pager went off and before we knew it again we were shown to our table.
We had a good look through the menu and it is quite heavy food as it is in Ireland, lots of nice choice though but I was boring and eventually decided I wanted to try the fish and chips to see what it compared to from next door at Cooks of Dublin. I was not disappointed and it was lovely although I could not eat all of it!
I then squeezed in another Chocolate Martini.
The Irish dancing was right behind our table so that was entertaining as she was tapping by my head!
We then forced room for dessert which was actually nice and light I had a strawberry Pavlov type dish with vanilla ice cream it was really tasty too.
The musicians were on by this stage and in full flow and the evening crowd were gathering and it was a nice lively atmosphere. We were stuffed and ready to walk off our dinner so we walked slowly back to the car and drove home to mellow after our lovely night out.Page added on: 08 November 2007
