See the fireworks at Epcot - Orlando / Florida Guide

Florida Guide > Disney Parks

If you are spending long days at the Parks you are likely to find that by the end of the day you are all beginning to flag! This is often the case if you have young children with you.

You may decide you need to get back to your villa to relax as you can’t last any longer!

Trouble is – you may miss the finale of the day – the firework display.

All is not lost! There is another way of seeing some fireworks!

How to see the fireworks at Epcot:

It is a closely guarded secret that you can see the fireworks at Epcot form the Disney Boardwalk! The Boardwalk is a corner of Disney which is primarily a hotel resort and is used mainly by the hotel residents. However, visitors can go in and it is well worth a visit to see the area and sample the ambiance.

You can park right outside – but the driver will need photo ID (driving licence or passport) as ID to enter.

Once parked, follow the driveway by foot up to the main entrance.

The Boardwalk is built around a lake and is beautifully laid out and all around the lake is lit up. It is a hub of activity in the evenings. There are a few shops and cafes as well as the very entertaining street entertainers!

Just take care as the mode of transport around the lakes are cycles built for 4!

Have a wander around the lake – one side has a beautiful white sandy beach and sometimes has live music in the evenings to entertain the guests.

When it is nearing firework time at Epcot which is usually 9pm – but do check it out beforehand online, make your way either to the bridge over the end of the lake or walk along the waterway that leads from the lake to Epcot and stand at the edge of Epcot itself by the boat docking area.

From both of these areas you will have a good view of the fireworks!

Ok – it’s not as good as being inside Epcot as you do miss the laser show on the lake – but the fireworks are fantastic and make the visit well worth it.

If you are visiting at Christmas time the Boardwalk is decorated in true Disney style – with the most enormous and stunning Christmas tree!

The Boardwalk isn’t far from Downtown Disney so you could combine the two places in one visit.
