If you love seafood then you just have to visit this place. Every time we are in Orlando we just have to pay this place a visit. It is one of our family favorites and we just can’t get enough of their Clam Chowder. Not only do you get loads of delicious clams but also loads of potatoes, bacon and spices too. It is so thick that the spoon stands up in it!! You can get it in a cup or a bowl. If you intend eating an Entrée then I would definitely recommend just getting a cup of Clam Chowder because a bowl full, accompanied by their delicious bread will fill up most people. If you go in for lunch and have a bowl full then you will definitely not need to eat anything else until it is time for dinner! My favorite lunch at Shells is the Clam Chowder and Salad option. The Clam Chowder is served in a bread boule and you can choose from Caesar Salad or a House salad.
The Daily specials are posted on the board and are always fresh and come in to the restaurant that morning. Once they’ve gone then they get wiped from the board.
They have a full takeout menu so if you would rather get your shrimps, clams, crabs, lobster and any other seafood and assorted items, and take it all home to enjoy with a glass of your favorite drink, outside on the deck of your vacation home, then this is a great option for you.
If someone in your party isn’t a seafood lover then there are a number of steak and chicken dishes to choose from. You can have a pasta meal with any ingredients.
To get there drive East on 192, W Vine Street, and a little way passed Marker 15, not far from Kissimmee main gates you’ll see Shells on the left hand side. There’s loads of parking but it does get really busy from around 6pm up to about 8pm. You can’t book a table at a Shells Restaurant, so if you go in the busy time then you may have to wait. If you tell them that you booked then they’ll tell you that you booked the wrong restaurant!! It is a great, casual dining experience at moderate prices and is another firm favorite with the Kissimmee locals.
