A Shopper’s Paradise
Orlando has to be one the best places in the world to go shopping the weather, the giant Malls, and best of all the prices……..even men should be happy shopping here as the sports apparel and equipment available is almost limitless.
Remember the price you see while shopping does not include Sales Tax (VAT in the UK) and this normally adds between 6-7% to the ticket price.
We will do the sports shopping last, just to keep the men reading.
Our family favourite as to be Orlando Premium Outlets located off International Drive. They have over 70 shops ranging from clothing, sports wear, watches, to household goods, all offering branded goods up to 70% cheaper than in the UK. They are arrange around four wings with a Mediterranean theme design to them. The shops to be found here include Nike, Adidas, Ralph Lauren, Tommy, Timberland, Fossil, Levis, DKNY to name but a few.
It also contains a Universal discount store and a brilliant Disney discount store where there are loads of bargains to be had. In the middle is a food court and restrooms. The Outlet centre can get busy at weekends when the locals come and do their shopping.
We also visit the Florida Mall as well on the South Orange Blossom Trail, but we are not as keen on this as the Outlet centre, it may just be that the discounts are not as great and I do like a bargain. The Florida Mall contains all the shops you would expect along with some massive department store Macy’s and Sears are but two of them.
A great ideal is to collect the coupon books which are located at all the shops and at various restaurants and you can save further money. With these books you can normally pick-up some denim for stupid money at Jeans outlet stores that are located on the 192, and International Drive.
When we are out there we always make time for the Nike Factory Outlet centres. I get my running shoes for a faction of what they cost me in the UK along with some excellent sports clothing, I managed to get some great Tiger Woods clothing from these stores for silly prices.
If you are serious Golfer and you are thinking of buying clubs then Orlando is your place, my favourite stores are the Edwin Watts Golf Stores located through out the area, but you can not go very far without finding a Golf store. You can save huge amounts of money on clubs and equipment.
In fact the biggest problem with the shopping is getting it all back, its no wonder that we have to buy extra suitcases in the past.
