Shopping at Winter Garden Village
Winter Garden Village is located about 15 minutes west of Orlando off interstate 429.
We have been visiting Florida for a good number of years now and this has become one of my favourite shopping areas. It has a wonderful atmosphere and has a relaxed vibe. It is well laid out in a pedestrian friendly area and is quite upmarket. The stores are numerous and quite varied - they include American Eagle, Victoria Secrets - pink, Bath & Bodyworks, Sports Authority, Old Navy, Marshall, TJ Maxx and many more. There is even a bandstand where we have often heard or seen music being played live and where you can sit, relax and just enjoy the ambience.
Restaurants here are numerous and will cater for all tastes and then there are Burger ' joints' including Five Guys one of our favourites - you must try their Cajun fries and Red Robin where the burgers are large & juicy and the fires are bottomless - their strawberry lemonade with real strawberries is delightful and you get free refills so I always ask for on to go and they always oblige. Coldstone Creamery is another must do - you chose your ice-cream flavour and then they put it on a marble block and you get to add topping of your choice or you can chose one their more popular varieties and then they mix it in front of you before putting in a tub or a sugar cone and it doesn' t melt.
I normally make a point of stopping at Winter Garden at least once per trip and if I need a caffeine fix I will stop at Panera Bread - they make fresh bread, bagels, cakes & pastries daily so they are always fresh. Their Mocha Frappuccino is excellent. They also do soup with a special ' soup of the day' and sandwiches - my favourite is turkey on tomato bread, they do salads and combo' s, breakfast and more - the atmosphere here is really relaxed and you are never rushed you could stay here all day and you often see people sitting here enjoying the free Wi-Fi or reading.
The World Market Store is another must for me and although some of items are too large to bring back I still enjoy wandering round - they offer top quality furniture, affordable home decor, imported rugs, curtains, unique gifts, food, wine and more and I can spend ages just having a mooch around. Winter Garden is unique. This huge open-air shopping center, contains a mix of specialty, big-box and discount stores and more than 20 eateries.
Winter Garden is the perfect destination for a day of retail therapy and even hubby likes it here - which is very very rare and he hates shopping of any sort but so long as we have plenty of stops and there is somewhere for him to sit whilst I get my fill of retail therapy then he is sort of happy.
