Where do I start? ?

The shopping capital of the world!

Where the phase “ shop till you drop “ has had to originate.

The shops in Orlando cannot fail to suit everyone from all walks of life, right down from the bargain shops like K-mart and Wal-Mart to the seriously expensive designer shops like Gucci and Hillfiger! There are also several Flea markets, which are also worth a look. With the dollar being so good for us brits at the moment the bargains to be had there are brilliant.

The malls are breathtaking and I don’t think any of the ones anywhere in the UK can hold a candle to those in Orlando. Even people who have been known to hate shopping can’t resist the ones there. The range of choices in them all is brilliant.

Lets start with the ordinary supermarket for grocery shopping, there is Publix, Wal-Mart, Winn Dixie, Target, to name but a few, where you can buy absolutely anything and everything under one roof, ranging from apples to PC’s, you can wander round in Wal-Mart’s for hours. The intensions of those going in just for a few things usually ends up out the window as the trolley gets more and more laden with goodies.

Great bargains can be found in toys, clothes, shoes (especially trainers) linens and towels and even although the prices compare well the quality is also very good. I now do all my Christmas shopping when I go, I save £’s

Wal-Mart’s and Publix are great if you are staying in a villa, the choice of food stuffs are excellent, the deli’s are especially good, with hot and cold foods allowing something for everyone but also meaning Mum doesn’t have to cook if she doesn’t want to! Meats like burgers, chicken and steaks for the barbecue are good value and also the wonderful big shrimp, if you fancy a lobster they even have them swimming in a tank in the store, you can’t get fresher than that.

The big malls are breathtaking, and most of them have really good food halls in the middle so that you can stop briefly from the buying long enough to grab a bite to eat.

If you have not yet visited the Mall at Millennia this is the place to go if you enjoy the designer shops, there are many really good ones and although they are expensive the savings you make compared to the UK are enormous. Macey and Bloomingdale’s are two of the best department stores ever.

One of my favourite malls is still the original Florida mall, with shops like J C Penney, Sears, and also the Disney outlets and M & M shop, fancy goods, kitchen wares, clothes, souvenirs and other specialty shops are found there.

I could spend my whole vacation shopping but I would end up penniless then I would have no money left to visit Mickey !
