SUBWAY SANDWICH SHOP: HUNGRY? READ ON - Orlando / Florida Guide

Florida Guide > Dining

Subway is a more international recognised name nowadays as more shops open across Europe. There are actually 25318 stores in 83 Countries. It is a franchise, hence the reason we are seeing more and more back home. The good thing about Subway in the United States is the price; it is much better value for money than back home in Blighty.

The choice in Subway is fantastic; there is so much to choose from. It is really well organized and you start off with choosing what type of bread you want some of the choices are:

  • Parmesan Oregano
  • Wheat
  • Granary
  • Onion

You then get the choice of 6 inch or foot long sub sandwich. A 6 inch is just the right size for lunch but if you are feeling hungry go for the foot long! There is then the choice of hot or cold fillings and they normally toast the bread for these subs. Some of the hot fillings consist of

  • Meatballs Marinara
  • Steak and cheese
  • Chicken teriyaki
  • Spicy Italian
  • Chicken and Bacon Ranch (my favourite)
  • Subway Melt

In the choice of cold fillings there is a huge choice even for the most fussy of eaters. Just a few of the choices are below:

  • Tuna
  • Chicken
  • Cheese
  • Ham
  • Turkey
  • Veggie Melt
  • Roast Beef

The next stage is the salad section and there are loads to choose from:

  • Lettuce
  • Onions
  • Olives
  • Gherkins
  • Olives
  • Chili Peppers
  • Tomatoes
  • Cucumber

Then there are lots of dressings to choose from and salt and pepper is added. The dressings range from Mayonnaise to honey Mustard to low fat dressings.

Generally the combo meals come with a soda fountain drink and chips, not as we know chips but potato crisps. You can also buy juice and cans plus bottles of soft drinks and tea and coffee. You can also have wraps and Salads including vegetarian options but the Subway Sub Salad is a little bit of most things and quite tasty, plus there are lots of healthier and low carb options too. Children are catered for too with a kid’s pak, usually a roll with tuna or ham or the less adventurous fillings and juice. They even have a party size platter, now there is an easy option! You can then eat your sandwich either in the shop or take it away.

If you have never tried Subway before why not give it a go on your next trip for a healthier alternative to Burgers and French fries!
