The Hickory steak house is situated inside the Gaylord Palms on the Osceola parkway and South International drive junction, Gaylord Palms is a convention center, with several other restaurants inside it, The Villa de Flora, The Key West, and also Ben & Jerry’s ice cream parlor and a Sports bar.

This is a place that is certainly worth a visit as it is a beautiful place and contains a large swimming pool surrounded by palm trees, waterfalls and is total unlike any other I have seen.

There is also a section called the everglades where you can wander round and see the rain forest and waterfalls, there are even alligators , turtles , snakes and Koi carp there, when we were there on a Saturday night they also had a small gator show , it just added to the interest of the evening.

It is an unusual place, so different to anything else I have ever seen and a truly wonderful place by night it looks totally stunning and you would never believe that there could be all that inside what looks like an ordinary building.

Back to the steak house, the restaurant is set out with very large comfortable huge leather chairs, the servers are very attentive and explained everything on the menu, as the portions are so generous they advise you to pick a few to share with your party and I agree as we still managed to have some left at the end.

The food was cooked to perfection and very well presented, as you would imagine we all had steaks although there was other fare on offer , such as chicken, salmon, pork etc.

This is the type of restaurant to use if you have a special occasion, in our party there was a birthday and after the main course even though we were all too full to order deserts they bought out a delicious looking chocolate cake with raspberry sauce and a candle to make it special. It is a touch expensive but like everything in life you pay for quality and here quality stood out.

Parking there is easy too, you can just park in the car park and walk into the building or you can have valet parking which ever you decide to do once you have had your meal they will stamp your parking ticket and then the charge is waived.
