The Olive Garden for lunch
On our last three or four visits to Florida one of the first places we have headed to for shopping has been just up the road from Silver Creek. It is Clermont Landing and is north on the 27 about 20 minutes from the 192 and just before the turning onto highway 50, so if you reach highway 50 you have missed it.
If you miss the first turning don’t worry there is another one about 100 yards further on.
After doing the shopping at Michaels, TJ Maxx, Ross, JC Penney, Dollar Tree and checking out the films on offer at the cinemas we head for our lunch at The Olive Garden. Of course sometimes we are a little late venturing out and decide to have lunch first, especially if we have not had much breakfast.
Lunch is always the same for us and we have decided that it is very good value, that is why we return time and time again. This particular Olive Garden although always busy has never failed to sit us straight away.
Service is prompt and drinks are quickly brought, at lunchtime it is always the same, pink lemonade, easy on the ice, which they are constantly refilling. Our choice is quickly made, again soup and salad. This time one of us had the minestrone and salad and the other had the other choice was chicken and gnocchi. This come with a large salad and bread sticks. The salad has a dressing which is unique to The Olive Garden and you can purchase a bottle of it if you wish. Although we have never done so I think it is about $6.
The salad quickly arrived with the breadsticks and we tucked in, delicious as always. Our soup followed on and once this had been devoured we were asked if we wanted a refill. Neither of us could resist not having a second bowl and this time one of chose Zuppa Toscana and I chose the chicken and gnocchi. I had a taste of the Zuppa and decided for me it was a little too spicy but delicious all the same but I was glad I had chosen the chicken and gnocchi.
Fully replete our bill was presented and as usual we decided that it was a very good value meal as with the tip it only came to just over $20. By the time the evening came we decided no big meal was required so just stayed in the villa and had a sandwich.
