Tough to be a Bug
It’s Tough To Be a Bug is located inside the base of the Tree of Life, and is the story of Flik, Princess Atta and Hopper.
This is a Fastpass attraction however you might not need to get a FastPass. A Cast Member told us that the way the line is designed your wait is never likely to be more than 30 minutes.
Cast Members will park your strollers for you, so be prepared to take all your belongings with you. Do not forget they just park them, they don’ t watch them.
There are scenes that may frighten children. If you have small children who might be scared, sit in the back of the theatre. When the show grows intense, the special effects are less harsh in the back. Hopper although a nice guy can be mean and scary. I know some of my friend’s children have really enjoyed it but our youngest girl got quite scared when she was three years old and now seven years later we cannot persuade her to return! If you are not sure whether to take your little one perhaps one of the adults can watch it first then decide.
To reach the movie theatre, you wind your way around the Tree of Life base and roots. Take your time wandering through the roots; there are so many carvings to discover. Also take time to look up at the Tree of Life itself; again, you will discover many new carvings.
In the dark caverns of the roots of the Tree of Life you will find a 430 seat theatre designed for special effects. . Once inside the waiting area don’ t miss the creative movie posters " A Stinkbug Named Desire, " " Web Side Story, " " Beauty and the Bee" and " My Fair Lady Bug. " You will receive a special pair of 3D " bug" glasses to wear while you view the show.
You are seated on wooden bench seats with bumps on them. There are hairy bugs, spiders, and it is loud and dark with some intense scenes. A variety of bugs, spiders and other insects will entertain you, probably scare you and definitely get your attention!
As you leave the Theater an announcer reminds the audience that " honorary bugs remain seated while all the lice, bed bugs, maggots and cockroaches exit first. "
When you exit the movie remember to leave your 3D glasses as Cast Members take them immediately to be cleaned.
If you are hungry after the show The Flame Tree BBQ and Pizzafari are both nearby.
