Visit Celebration - Orlando / Florida Guide

Florida Guide > Places to Visit

One of our most favourite places to visit whilst in Florida and always at the top of our list is the magical small dreamy town of Celebration. Conceived as an ideal small town by Walt Disney and completed in 1996 it is a real fairytale come true kind of place.

Beautiful homes complete with front porches and verandas and of course the must have rocking chair grace the streets all maintained to the highest level with absolute pristine landscaping all contribute to making the town a most desirable place to be.

As with the homes, the town itself is just as inviting and has everything one might need, such as banks, post office, wonderful shops, cinema and some wonderful eateries including Churchill’s which is an English tea room serving the most delicious afternoon teas. Or maybe the Market street café which we do usually visit which offers a very extensive menu and includes everything from the all day breakfasts to super sandwiches, salads, fantastic burgers to fabulous dinner specialties such as fish and chips or maybe meatloaf dinner and of course must not forget the tempting selection of deserts.

The main street is called Market street which is where most of the shops are with many unique gift shops selling crafts , gifts, clothing, toys etc… and it is also here that from early December the annual Christmas tradition takes place where from early evening every hour on the hour the street becomes a winter wonderland drenched in snow (snow machines of course) but loved by everyone and is so entrancing to watch, especially lovely to see the little ones enjoying it and I would always recommend this as a must see when visiting at this time if you are over in Florida.

Once at the end of Market street you will see the stunning lake where you can sit at the waters edge on the rocking chairs and just take it all in, or maybe contemplate which restaurant to visit for dinner.

There is something for everyone here including a world class golf course designed by Robert Trent Jones jr which offers a wonderful golfing experience to the golf enthusiast. It has a lovely Colonial style clubhouse (of course) and a unique water driving range and should be top of the list of courses to play here in Florida.

Situated of Highway 192 and close to the i4 junction it is very well signposted and should definitely be on your list of places to visit on your next trip, I can fully recommend it.
