What’s new at Disney World Part 2
An all new Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs ride will replace the existing original ride, which I feel was a bit too scary for the little ones it was intended for as it takes place in the dark nearly all of the time.
On this new ride you will board a small train for a merry musical family ride and swing and sway along a rocky path, down steep winding curves and into the darkness of the mine sparkling with diamonds, there you will see the happy dwarves sing “Dig, dig, dig” whilst they go about their work in a sparkling diamond mine, then follow them home to their cottage to meet Snow White waiting for them. This will be a very jolly musical ride unlike the old one in every respect.
This will leave them with the old Snow White ride, at present still working, so that will be another thing for them to re-develop, although they have not given any hints yet as to what that will be. They do mention an all new Prince Charming’s Carousel so maybe when the new area is finished they will start on the existing Fantasy Land until it has all been updated.
Under the Sea. The journey of the little mermaid is a ride that will take you down under the sea to find Ariel and her prince. See the evil Ursula brew her evil potions and cast her spells. She tries to keep Ariel from her prince but you know it will
all turn out right in the end. Love always triumphs over evil. As there is already a musical show called The Little Mermaid at Disney’s Hollywood Studio, they may be considering a make over at that park too.
“Be our Guest” is a new restaurant based on Sleeping Beauty. Everything will be set out as in the famous film and the servers will be dressed as they were in the film too. As the advertising blurb says: “Welcome! Come in! Sit down; pull up a chair. What will you have? A spot of tea? A tasty treat? A banquet fit for a king or Queen? Oh! How wonderful. ” You may even get to see the Beast or Rose Red if you are very lucky.
As it has been hinted that all areas are to be re-developed, they have a very long way to go, but it does mean there will be so many exciting changes to look forward to on each visit. With the up-surge of visitors to Universal Island of Adventures, all wanting to see the new Harry Potter Area, I think Disney felt they had to do something this dramatic to win back all their visitors who may have left Disney in favour of Universal. So it is win-win for us, the visitors, as we can look forward to seeing Harry Potter and all the new changes at Disney World.
