When you have almost completed three quarters of the lake’s circuit take the bridge to your left and head away from the lake, cutting through the conservation area. You will emerge at Lake Evalyn where you can stop to admire the pretty houses on its opposite side. These houses may be decorated at various times throughout the year- 4th July, Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Christmas. The inventiveness of the occupants of homes in Celebration knows no bounds when it comes to decorating them. The most impressive decorations we have seen have been at Halloween when one such home uses the whole of its frontage and some of that of its neighbours, to display a rock band of ghouls complete with stage, a pirate ship, gallows, coffins and the usual ghosts, spiders and witches!
As you continue along the lakeside path you will find a further notice giving information about animal wildlife in the area. There are descriptive paragraphs about wild hogs, raccoons, armadillos and the nocturnal opossum amongst others. We have personally witnessed a tame looking deer grazing in this area.
Take the next bridge to the left and once again cut through the conservation area once more and be prepared to be impressed as you reach the third lake. . . . . . . Wow! ! The rear of the houses across the lake comes in to view and this is serious money! The first home in your line of vision is a gold coloured, mock Italian residence complete with huge archways, columns and windows bedecked with glorious window boxes. As the whole row comes in to view there are homes of every architectural design, Newport style mansions with lawns sweeping down to the edge of the lake, colonial style brick facade homes, looking for all the world like they should be occupied by a wealthy Boston banker, elegant stone residences, and homes that would not look out of place in the Hollywood Hills, Some of the decks are clearly visible with their opulent furniture, glorious patio containers with colourful flowers and marble infinity pools with oveflowing waterfalls.
If you wish to shorten your walk cross the brick facade bridge to your right, passing between the large white house with the tiled roof and the yellow home with the black awnings and the tall poplars in front of the deck and emerging past the beautifully planted containers, on East Lawn Drive. Otherwise continue along the path, keeping the lake on the right hand side. Look for the house with the grey, stone facade and espy the personal water chute, hidden between the “rocks” which emerges in to a beautiful marble swimming pool.
Continue to admire the houses as you make your way along the path.
