When visiting our beautiful villa in Orlando we sometimes drive down to the Fort Lauderdale area, which, with its turquoise waters, silvery sand and sapphire blue skies, is a wonderful place to vacation.
Not only does it have wonderful beach and a sub-tropical climate, there are great places to eat and drink, too. From the cheapest to the most expensive, there are restaurants and bars to suit every palate and every wallet. Not only that, but many have wonderful settings, on the intracoastal waterways, which make dining an extra special pleasure.

Murphy’s Law Irish Pub at the Seminole Hard Rock Casino
Situated on 441, between Stirling Rd and Griffin Rd, this pub offers the best of Irish culture, live music every night of the week, and frequent drink specials and promotional events. Of course there is a traditional Irish welcome at this pub, where they pride themselves on their service.
Happy Hour is every day from 5 pm to 8 pm, and there is a large selection of beers, wines and spirits. If you like to watch sport then there are large TV screens where special sporting events are shown. In October there is Oktoberfest, followed by Halloween parties, and of course if you happen to be around in March there is St Patrick’s Day.
Drinks are a bit pricey, but that is because it is in the Hard Rock Hotel. It can get very busy, but there is an outside area too.
Grill 66 and Bar
Situated on SE 17th Street Causeway at Pier Sixty-Six Marina, this fine dining restaurant offers breathtaking panoramic views of the Intracoastal waterways. These views are particularly spectacular at night.
With the motto, ‘Where the Food Lives up to the View, ’ this restaurant is known for its prime aged steaks. It is also the place to try fresh seafood and shellfish. You can even dock your boat if you have one! Happy Hour for drinks is Monday to Saturday, from 5 pm to 7 pm, with 2 for 1 drinks. There are 28 Day Prime Aged Steaks, fresh Maine Stuffed Lobster, Macadamia Nut Crusted Chilean Seabass, Double Creme Potato Au Gratin and Sweet Potato Fries – you won’t know what to choose. And if that is not enough there are mouth watering desserts made fresh daily.
