At last it’s on its way in true Orlando Style – Harry Potter “A Theme Park within a Theme Park”! !
Scheduled to be unveiled late 2009 or early 2010 in what is currently the Lost Continent at Island of Adventure, Universal Studios, Florida the magical world of Harry Potter will be brought to life in what is said to be authentic to the visual scenes of the films.
The mystically themed land will actually include the magnificent Hogwarts Castle, the picturesque and charming village of Hogsmead and the enigmatic, chilling Forbidden Forrest (hopefully without the terrifying Giant Spider – Aragog and his several hundred offspring). Enthusiasts will be able to gain the ambience of their surroundings by first hand experience, entering some of their most beloved scenes from within Hogwarts School itself and also around the castle grounds.
Delighting in the adventures of Harry Potter and his friends, Ron Weasley and Hermione Granger fans will find out just what it would be like to be a teen wizard first hand.
This astonishing land will of course include interactive attractions and feature rides all based around the best-selling books created by J. K. Rowling, who has been supporting the creation by Warner Bros and Universal and is said to be incredibly excited at the plans she has seen so far.
A state of the Art main attraction has been announced that will bring to life the enchantment, tales and characters from the seven brilliant books in this exclusive theme park. Although at the moment Universal are keeping the precise details under their sorting hats.
There will also be shops (hopefully to include the delightful Honeyduke’s sweet shop and their scrumptious wares) and restaurants which will also be dishing up delightful wizarding cuisine for ravenous guests to sample and with any luck be able to wash down a glass of pumpkin juice at the Three Broomsticks?
Stuart Craig, an Academy Award-Winning Production designer who has worked on all the Harry Potter films will stay devoted to ensure the look and design of the park will remain loyal to the books and films.
With the new park not just to focus on one book: but set to pull in elements of all seven books, this will truly been an imaginative and enthralling addition to one of Florida’s already incredibly popular parks.
The timing of the announcement could not have been better as the final book “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows” out on the 21st July 2007 and the new film “Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix” released on the 13th July 2007.
