A perfect day in Florida.
There is a great series running in one of the sunday newspapers right now that asks celebrities to run through their perfect day. It is so entertaining that I would have a crack at doing my Perfect Florida Day. Though I am not a celebrity (yet! )
I would wake up fairly early (but not too early) and have breakfast by the pool. Yes, I did consider going to a restaurant for a big blowout but honestly, there is nothing better than a refreshing swim and then a delicious easy breakfast. Should I go out for breakfast, then it would be to Perkins and since this is fantasy, I would have a couple of Eggs Benedict and an endless pot of coffee.
Once everyone is up, I get another cup of coffee and chivvy them out of the door. We will arrive at Animal Kingdom really early so we are at the gate for the Safari. That done, we would head for The Lion King Show and a quick walk round to see the other exhibits. Next, we would have a quick trip over to Hollywood Studios and pick up a couple of rides before going into The Magic Kingdom to really just walk round and soak up the atmosphere.
By now, it is lunchtime and we pass a Red Lobster so we will slip in and get a seafood platter each.
No time to hang around as we are off to Seaworld to see the sea lion show and ride the coasters, Kracken and Manta. We will try the new vanilla drink before we drive the short distance to Universal where we head for Harry Potter and ride the connecting train ride. A quick visit to Aquatica to do the water rides where you shoot past dolphins and then we are going to Epcot. I love Epcot at night and it will be the food and wine festival with a concert then we will be off to watch the amazing fireworks now and we get the perfect position by the lake and someone gets us all a chocolate milk shake.
We are hungry again so decide on Villa De Flora the terrace restaurant at the Gaylord Palms Hotel. Amazingly, we eat our way through the menu. Now back to the villa and the men and kids go off into the games room and us girls have a swim, hot tub and then a hot chocolate by the pool.
We have made the hot chocolate with melted chocolate and we have crowned it with whipped cream and cinammon. We have bought a piece of cheesecake each from the Cheesecake Factory and we demolish that.
A lovely hot shower and then into our blissfully comfy beds to dream about tomorrow.
