All New Fantasy Land - Part 2
A relatively new area of Fantasy Land is The Enchanted Forest. This part features, among others, Under the Sea: The Journey of the Little Mermaid ride. This was new in 2011 and is a great success and a beautiful way of telling a very old story. You travel through in sea shells and watch the animated characters tell the story of the love of the mermaid for her handsome boy.
Next to this ride is the all new Seven Dwarfs Diamond Mine. A roller coaster ride that tells the story of Snow White in a new and updated way.
Also in this area is Belle’s Village which includes, Be Our Guest, a dining room from the film Beauty and the Beast - another Disney classic. This restaurant serves guests in the stunning ballroom, the mysterious West Wing of the Beast’s castle, or the elegant Rose Gallery, with counter service available during the day, and table service at night. Also in Belle’s village is Gaston’s Tavern, created to look like the tavern from the film or you can visit Bonjour: Village Gifts for souvenirs. Step outside of the village and you will see Belle’s cottage.
The Enchanted Tales with Belle is a new interactive character meet-and-greet location for Belle and Lumiere, you start in Maurice’s workshop, where you step through a magical mirror straight into the Beast’s library.
In the location where the old Snow White ride used to be, there is now The Princess Fairytale Hall. This royal court will be where Aurora, Cinderella and other Disney princesses will greet small children. Stone walls, stained glass windows and high ceilings will complete the Castle Courtyard look. Children will enter the queue in a large space filled with the Princesses' portraits before splitting off to individual meeting rooms with the Princesses. This is the place for collecting autographs from their favourite princess.
All the other features of Fantasy Land remain the same. Cinderella’s Carousel being one of them. The eating places are the same except of rat new ones mentioned above, Pinnoccio’s Haus, which is one of the biggest self service restaurants, Cinderella’s Royal Table on the 1st floor of the castle, which you will have to book in advance (usually when you arrive in the morning is sufficient) and the Friers Nook for a few hot snacks such as macaroni cheese and hot dogs.
If you have not been for a few years, you will be in for a very pleasant surprise.
