An overview of Florida Eco Safaris.
Florida Eco Safaris is located in Forever Florida, an area of stunning natural habitat in St Cloud.
This area is being preserved to remain just as nature intended and gives you a real feel of Florida as it has been for centuries (before Walt turned it on it' s head)
Here you can see around 200 species of bird, black bears (yes, really) white tail deer and, of course, the ubiquitous alligator.
Now, what makes this place special and exciting is the way you get to see what the 40, 000 acres has to offer.
Let me start with the Coach Safari. This will probably be unlike any coach you have travelled in before as it is elevated to afford the passengers a birds eye view. It travels over land and water deep into the wilderness for two and a half hours of sheer bliss.
The Coach Safari costs $32 per addut and $24 per child.
Next, the Zipline Safari. here, you will be transported by coach to the start point and then launched over forests by way of a network of cables. This experience lasts for about two and a half hours and costs $85. We were recently at a simple one line zipline that cost the same so this looked good value to me.
Now, I guess you all know about ziplines, right? but have you heard of a canopy cycle? Well, I will tantalise you with a little information, then.
It is described as a reclined bike that is suspended by cables. You then pedal yourself around for about an hour. This is a new addition to this attraction and one that I cannot wait to try. The cost for this is $60.
Finally, if horse riding is your bag then you can take a trail that lasts for about an hour and a half. This costs $60. They will carefully match the horse to your age and ability and it is also possible to book longer Horseback Safari than this.
You will be glad to know that part of your fee for these events goes towards supporting conservation in Florida.
It goes without saying that the famous Theme Parks create a lasting memory for you and your family but I woud take a bet that a visit to Florida Eco Safaris will stay in your mind forever!
