Another good flight under my belt........
Well, after numerous flights with numerous airlines I think I have just had my best flight ever.
I normally fly with whoever is the cheapest carrier on the dates that I need. To me the flight is not the most important part of my holiday, although a good flight always helps get me off on the right foot.
The day before my flight I used Virgin's online check in service. This was excellent. My whole party was checked in with allocated seating; all we had to do the next day was turn up at the airport and drop the bags off. What a brilliant service - I wish more airlines did this!
At the Bag drop desk we were slip into separate groups as 2 members of my party were flying Premium Economy and the other 3 were flying economy. The check in girl noticed that we were together so she 'fast tracked' our passports so that we could all go through passport control without having to join the mile long line. She then noticed that there were only 3 of us traveling in economy and asked us if we would like a row of 3 seats together - at online check in there were only 4's available! She made a call and voila - 3 seats together at the very front of the plane! She was very helpful and by far the best check in attendant I have ever dealt with!
So off we go through passport control - no line -Brilliant! A quick bit of breakfast and a little bit of shopping later and we were ready to board.
Once on the plane I noticed that the seating and entertainment system had all be upgraded - the plane looked very new and shiny indeed!
Take off was good and from then on the flight was by far the best that I have had! The cabin crew service was brilliant - lots of food and drink on offer. The entertainment system was great, plenty of new films and TV shows to watch. The seats were clean and comfortable with plenty of leg room. And I know that this bit is not really down to Virgin, but the flight itself was the smoothest I have ever experienced. As a nervous flyer I always worry about every knock and bag, but this time, there was no need to worry as I heard nothing.
The flight was just as good on the way back. So I guess what I am trying to say is well done Virgin - excellent service and a great flight!
