Planned for 2008!
Aquatica a whimsical one of a kind water park is currently under construction by SeaWorld. Due to open in March 2008, this is set to be an awesome experience for all age groups.
Located on International Drive across from SeaWorld, the park which will be set in 60 acres of flourishing scenery inspired by the South Seas. It promises not only offer the usual high-speed thrill rides that spin and soak you, spacious sandy beaches where you can soak in the sun, lazy rivers, aquariums and waterfalls, but also a few new unique things never to have been seen before.
In a nut shell Aquatica will be a place with over 80,000 square feet of beach area, it will have over 30 water slides and 6 rivers and lagoons.
There will be amazing raft rides, racing tunnels and rivers offering everything from roaring rolling surfs and high-speed thrills.
There will be not just one, but two wave lagoons which will be the world’s first and only side-by-side wave pools. These will be able to be operated independently or together. However, they will both offer completely different experiences. One will have gently rolling surf whilst the other will have crashing waves and 5-foot swells. It is rumoured that there will be at least seven different wave patterns which can be created throughout the two pools.
Imagine slowly bobbing along on a winding crystal blue river which takes you through soothing waterfalls and secret caverns where inside the walls and ceilings are lined with aquariums and thousands of different bright, vibrant fish, just lay back and enjoy the view.
A second river will offer the conflicting encounter giving thrills while shooting swimmers through swirling rapids and quickening and racing waters.
However, the central attraction looks to be absolutely out of this world. It entails two clear 300 foot long round tubes which will carry the riders through a Dolphin inhabited lagoon. Riders will feel like they are flying through the waters whilst been surrounded by playful black and white Commerson's dolphins.
For those with younger children, fear not Aquatica has integrated one of the world's largest interactive water play area (a colourful 60 foot rain fortress) into the park which will enable the whole family to whiz and whoosh side by side together on slides into a 15,000 square foot play pool. SeaWorld have even thought of the smallest of guests and provides slides and tubes for them to enjoy sat on rafts with Mum and Dad or Aunts and Uncles alike.
