Bands Brew and BBQ Part 3
As we entered the VIP area of the stadium where Kenny Rogers was to appear we quickly realised what the staff member who told us we could go to our seat when we arrived a few hours earlier meant. We had supposed that if we had gone to our seat then we would have had to sat to retain it but this was not the case as the more seasoned event goers were aware. You handed your ticket to an assistant who gave you your own personal reservation number and then she went with you to the seats you had chosen and they were reserved for you for the whole performance. If we had known this earlier we could probably have been in the front row but as it was we were more than happy with third row seats. I would really recommend anyone that goes to any of these events to get the VIP seating. On this occasion it cost about $20 but it was brilliant being so near the stage.
Coming over on the plane I had read that Kenny Rogers had not been very well so was prepared for the frail rather stiff guy that appeared. He had great charisma and his voice was as powerful as ever, we could have happily sat through his hour and a half show again, he really did know how to engage with an audience. He had a great backing group including a brilliant female violinist. Towards the end of the show his wife and young twin sons came on the stage and the boys also sang. It really was a great experience I am so glad we saw him.
We then decided to have a gentle stroll around the park watching the little ones with the birds and also trying to feed the ducks. From this vantage point we had a great view across the lake of the Band Brew and BBQ area.
As we strolled by the area where the characters had been earlier there were a lot of enthusiastic line dancers enjoying themselves. Nearby there was live entertainment on the stage and this was beginning to draw quite a crowd.
We decided to end our visit by returning to the Beer Garden to spend the rest of our credits. My Father had a Stella Artois whilst my Mother and I enjoyed a glass of wine. The crowds were beginning to head towards home and we found a lovely shaded area in the Beer Garden to enjoy our drinks.
By the time we left the park darkness was starting to fall we left happy so pleased we had been to the Bands Brew and BBQ, if you get the opportunity do go to one of these events.
