Brunch at La Coquina
If you have a family celebration or simply just a birthday or anniversary for two to share treat yourself to Brunch at La Coquina. This fabulous restaurant is at the Hyatt Regency Grand Cypress Resort. The Hyatt Regency Grand Cypress is located adjacent to Disney property and just off Hotel Plaza Boulevard.
La Coquina is the restaurant that wins the Best Brunch award in the Orlando Sentinel’s yearly restaurant awards. It has an excellent well deserved reputation for the standard of its food but it is also quite expensive. With prices about $60 per person.
This brunch is served seasonally on Sundays from September until June from 10:30 a. m. until 2:00 p. m. As well as being more of the most popular Sunday Brunches in the area the hotel also holds golf getaways and ladies spa weekends whose residents also book the Brunch so be sure to make a reservation in plenty of time.
The dress code understandably is resort casual, no shorts or jeans.
The Brunch is styled as a French marketplace and set in the elegant dining room overlooking Lake Windsong and two sides of the dining room are floor to ceiling windows overlooking the resort’s gardens. A pianist plays softly throughout the Brunch.
During the meal you can have as much as you care to drink of fresh squeezed orange juice, champagne, coffee, tea and soft drinks. These will be continually refilled throughout your meal and included in the price.
You will see several hot entrees that are made to order as are omelettes. A waffle station serves waffles and hot pancakes. The hot entrees included buffalo, lamb, roast beef, three kinds of fresh fish and eggs benedict. If there is anything that is not there that you would like you can speak to the chefs and they will try to provide it.
The selection is vast and nothing like the usual Brunch buffet. There are three kinds of caviar, as well as eight different kinds of sushi. You will find a raw bar, as well as a seafood bar with barbecued scallops and shrimps. If you prefer Pasta there are several different kinds as well as lots of salads.
Apparently the dessert buffet has to be seen to be believed with many different types of desserts and pastries to tempt you.
To complete your meal there is an assortment of 12 cheeses with accompanying fresh fruit and breads.
This seems to be the Brunch to go to to celebrate a special event.
