Bubba Gump - Treasure Island
We had previously eaten at the Bubba Gump restaurant at Universal Studios but on a recent day trip to Treasure Island we decided to eat at the newly opened one at St Johns Pass at Madeira Beach.
St Johns Pass is a turn-of-the-century fishing village. It is now a village full of unique retail shopping, a variety of restaurants, the local fishing fleet, cruise lines, boat rentals, parasailing and jet skiing. There is plenty of parking and the beach is literally a stroll away. Everything here is open seven days a week the shops not closing until late evening.
It was a very hot day when we were here and it was lovely to be seated on the first floor with the sea breeze blowing through the restaurant. It was mid afternoon and most people were still at the beach so we were seated quickly.
Having dined at Bubba Gumps before we already knew about the signs on our table that had to be turned to get the server to stop at our table and she was with us within seconds of us turning it to Stop.
We both decided on a Lt. Dan' s Pomegranate Punch Cool which included Pomegranate Liqueur, Malibu Rum, Pineapple Juice, Cranberry and Sierra Mist. They were so refreshing and we also were allowed to keep our glasses.
I opted for the Shrimp Rigatoni Tender which was sautéed Shrimp, Rigatoni, and fresh Spinach in a creamy Sundried Tomato Pesto Cream Sauce, and topped with fresh Parmesan Cheese it really was fantastic.
My brother chose Steamed Shellfish. This was huge when it came and was a mixture of Steamed Mussels, Clams, Snow Crab, Lobster Claw and Shrimp. It was served with Jasmine Rice, Coleslaw, and a side of Garlic Bread. Although I really loved mine his looked delicious.
While we were eating we spotted dolphins playing by the boats in the bay, our server told us that they can often be seen here.
We then had the task of deciding on desserts. I chose Jenny' s Mini' s. They were advertised as “Perfect little tastes of Heaven! ” and they certainly were. They included Peanut Butter & Chocolate - Chocolate and Raspberry - Dreamsickle - Red, White, and Blue - Mud Pie - Lemon with fresh Tropical Fruit.
Chocolate Chip Cookie Sundae was my brother’s choice. It was a warm Chocolate Chip Cookie topped with Vanilla Ice Cream, Caramel, Chocolate, Peanuts, and Whipped Cream, slimming it was not!
We really enjoyed our meal and then strolled for a couple of hours along the boardwalk browsing in the many shops before heading back to Orlando.
