South of the US-192 exit is the town of Celebration, it is a town built by Disney over a period of 15yrs. Disney’s intention was to be a nostalgic recreation of the days when life was simple and wholesome and still today it is an interesting attempt to resurrect traditional values of strong family and community ties. To facilitate this, lots are narrow and front porches abound. Garages are in the rear and streets are meant to be primarily for people, bicycles and pets.
It is an award winning community and blends townhouses, apartments, estate-homes, a class Celebration Hotel, Town hall, School, Health Centre, Post office, AMC cinema, golf course, restaurants and a lakeside park . Within the park there is a fairly large lake and alligators can be spotted along with turtles and fish. A place where you can just sit down, relax and enjoy the atmosphere. With a quaint Lakeside promenade, interesting buildings, old time shops, getting around is easy as all are within 15 minute walk. All things you will see in Celebration, have their own unique character.
At Celebration there are restaurants like Celebration Town Tavern, offering Snacks and New England seafood specialties, a huge variety of beers from all over the world. We recommend it even just for the atmosphere. Columbia restaurant with its traditional Cuban and Spanish dishes and Café d’ Antonio with a lakeside view and great Italian cuisine.
If you prefer to enjoy a small snack like Pizza or coffee with a nice slice of cake during your walks they also have lots of choice.
After enjoying a dinner at one of Celebration' s many fine restaurants, nothing could be more romantic than a carriage ride located on Front Street. Rides are offered every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday evening from 6pm to 10pm.
Celebration Town Center each year organizes special events and festivals for locals and visitors. Every spring they do Celebration Art festival and Art lovers or collectors can buy paintings, sculptures, pottery and many more artistic creations.
In April they organize the Great American pie festival, where visitors can enjoy a pie-eating contest and buffet with pies, ice creams etc
In autumn, Celebration town organizes a festival where Visitors can paint a pumpkin, dance to live music, take a stroll by the lake or enjoy the whole event.
During December-Christmas period there is a festival called Now Snowing, an event with live music, carolers, horse drown carriage rides and snowfall happens every evening, giving the whole downtown a magic touch for every heart. It really brings home the feeling of Christmas with hundreds of pretty lights especially when the snow falls.
