Directions from Orlando and Sanford airports to Highway 27
We have tried many routes from both Orlando and Sanford airports to our home just off highway 27 but the one that we have found best for both little traffic and quite nice views is as described below. Although the 417 is a toll road, the cost is only around $7 or $8 from the start just by the airport, to where it joins the I4 by the Mickey ears pylon. Of course, you can also get of the I4 at Junction 58 which will lead you on to Champions Gate. Next time you are in Florida why not try the route as below from the airports listed, see what you think.
Directions From Orlando International Airport
After exiting the airport, stay in the left lane.
Follow the airport signs for the South exit.
Move into the right hand lane and exit onto the South Access Road.
Follow this road for 4 miles until it joins with Boggy Creek Road and cross over into the right hand lane following signs for exit onto ' 417 South for I4' .
Turn right up the ramp onto the 417 South and continue through three sets of tolls, (the first two are $1 each and the third is 75c), this road will merge onto the I4 by the Mickey Ears.
Stay on the I4 until Junction 55, signposted Highway 27 (Haines City).
Turn left or right at the traffic lights at the end of exit 55 which takes you onto Highway 27.
Directions from Sanford International Airport
As you leave Sanford airport follow signs for the 417 Greeneway South and Orlando, proceed 3 miles to the 2nd traffic lights immediately before the flyover.
Go under the flyover and turn immediately left.
Go to the next traffic lights and continue straight on up the slip road to join the 417 Greeneway South towards Orlando.
There are 7 tolls, the first is $2 followed by 3 at 50c, the 5th and 6th are $1 each and the final one is 75c.
Caution: 2 miles after the second toll, the road forks at the 408 East-West Expressway. Stay in the right hand lane and follow signs for 417 south.
Continue on the 417 until it joins the I4 at the Mickey ears pylon.
Stay on the I4 until Junction 55, signposted Highway 27 (Haines City).
Turn left or right at the traffic lights at the end of exit 55 which takes you onto Highway 27.
