This Tex-Mex restaurant is situated directly on International drive. It serves good Mexican food in a large cantina style environment.
If you go early in the evening you should have no problem getting a table straight away but be warned it is very popular with delegates from the nearby conference centre, probably due to the very reasonable prices, so gets extremely busy in the evenings.
You are served free fresh salsa and warm, made from scratch, tortilla chips to nibble on while you wait for your order to arrive. But don’t get too carried away with these or you will never finish your main meal as the food portions are large.
We occasionally opt for an appetizer when we are feeling very hungry but never get one each as there is plenty to share. Our favourites are the Queso Dip, this is a warm dip made from cheese, onions, tomatoes and peppers and comes with more of the homemade tortilla chips or the new Shrimp Queso Blanco dip which is a blend of white Monterey Jack cheese sauce, green chillies, jalapeno peppers and shrimp topped with spicy Pico de Gallo sauce and again served with tortilla chips.
For the main course we almost always plump for the Fajitas. You can choose from chicken, steak or shrimp or a combination of any two. Our first choice is the steak and chicken combo. The meat is served sizzling on a platter with fried onions and peppers, you also get a plate with refried beans, rice, salad, grated cheese, Pico de Gallo, sour cream and guacamole if you like it and a dish of warm soft tortillas. Assembling the food is all part of the fun and if you have never eaten Fajitas before don’t be afraid to ask the waiting staff to demonstrate the best way to put the concoction together. Wednesday is Fajita’s day and they have special offers which can save you a few dollars on the bill. If two of you plan on choosing the same Fajita’s make sure to ask for Fajitas for two rather than ordering separately and you will save even more.
Although there is a dessert menu we have never tried them as we are always too stuffed from the main course although we have seen some spectacular creations being delivered to other tables.
If you are in the area in May check out the Cinco de Mayo celebrations around the 5th which can get quite lively with mariachi bands and games for the children.
