Eco- Safaris at Forever Florida
Ever wanted to try something different from the usual Theme Parks? Are you into eco-friendly? Then why not try an Eco - Safari at “Forever Florida “. Come and be a cowboy for a day, and bring the whole family there is plenty to occupy everyone.
Founded by Dr. Brousard and wife Margaret, the “Allen Brousard Conservancy, was a dream thought up by his son Allen. His idea was to preserve and protect the unspoilt Florida eco-systems.
Safaris can either be taken on horseback or motor-coach. Horseback Safaris are available in one, two or three hour sessions and riders should be 12 years or over. Any child under 12 years would need to be assessed before allowing to ride on the Safaris. Also anyone weighing over 275 pounds will also need to be assessed before being allowed to ride.
If you are a real cowboy/girl at heart it is possible to book a two night – Crescent J Cattle Drive Weekend Safari, which includes some training in cowboy skills (roping and riding) and another favourite is an overnight trail ride Safari where more time is spent riding the wilderness trails and learning about nature.
Coach Safaris begin at the Visitor Centre on Crescent J Cattle Ranch after an Orientation Video. The coaches have individual seats elevated so visitors all have a good view of the surrounding countryside. When the Nature Reserve is reached it is very noticeable the contrast between the neatness of the ranch and wilderness of the Reserve. It is not uncommon for visitors to see Florida Black Bears and maybe bobcats and coyotes.
On returning to the Ranch most visitors are ready to eat the excellent food served at the Cypress Restaurant and later wander through the well stocked Gift Shop to check out those souvenirs to remind you of your visit to this different Florida.
At Forever Florida, the children haven’t been forgotten with a Petting Zoo, pony and wagon rides. Why you can even get married here!!! Directions to Forever Florida
From West or East take US 192 to Holopaw, turn South onto US441, drive 7.5 miles and Forever Florida will be on the East (left) side of the highway.
From South take Florida Turnpike to the Yeehaw Junction, exit and proceed North on US441 for 26 miles, Forever Florida is on the East (right) side of the highway.
