Enjoying Celebration Part 2
To the left on the lake in Celebration you will find the town’s impressive hotel. It is another great place to people watch with the arrival of guests in their upmarket cars or being chauffeured in by the hotel’s cars. We have never been into the hotel but the rooms are supposed to be beautiful some with their own balconies.
Near to the Hotel you will find Shannon’s an Irish restaurant/pub where you can enjoy a dink or a meal either in the air conditioned interior or in the outside seating area.
If you are looking for ladies or gents clothing or just some gifts Downtown East with its large bear outside can be found next to Shannon’s.
One of the great features of Celebration is its lake. You will find a very good map of Celebration in this area. There is a designated walk around it which we have yet to do but it is on our list of Things to Do for our next visit. At the front of the lake there are some rocking chairs where it is so relaxing just to sit in the sun and view the lake. I have been known to go to Kilwins nearby to get an ice cream to enjoy as I rock back and forth! To the right of the lake there are water fountains which the children delight in running in and out of to keep cool. There a also a park here but I have yet to find out if it is open to the public or just for the residents.
There are several more restaurants in Celebration amongst them is the popular Antonio’s where the food is very good but be sure to make a reservation before you arrive. If you like Japanese food you will enjoy Seito Sushi. The Columbia restaurant has good food but also gets very busy with its choice of indoor or outdoor dining.
Other shops you may enjoy are the Wolfgang Bakery and Sanrio Surprises we never visit Celebration without some purchases from these. You will also have difficulty going past Lollipop without stepping inside!
It was near Easter on our last visit and as we made our way back to the car we saw some beautiful window displays featuring Kermit the Frog and the Easter bunnies. As we left Market Street we noticed a sign for a new shop Sweet Escape to open shortly we will be sure to visit next time we are over.
If you do visit Celebration do not forget to look out of the electric cars that are so popular in the area.
