Epcot Future World
There’s so much to do in Epcot’s Future World. Here are some hints and tips for making the most of your visit.
Spaceship Earth (the ride inside the big ball) is a definite must, but even though it’s the first ride you come to, dont make it the first ride you do. As it is a continuous ride, the waiting time for Spaceship Earth is not usually too long. Head for Soarin or Test Track first as these are very popular rides. (Soarin is due to re open later this year) Ride Spaceship Earth in between fast passes. As its in the middle of Future World its easy to access no matter which part of the park you are coming from/ going to.
Make sure you have a fast pass for Test Track or Soarin. You can then go to the ride without the fast pass first and hopefully beat the queues. If you dont mind splitting your group, Test Track does have a single rider queue.
The Land- People head here for Soarin, and often miss the rest of The Land building. The boat ride - Living With the Land is interesting. Again the waiting time is usually minimal. There are also dining options here - Sunshine Seasons, a food court style restaurant with numerous options and The Garden Grill, a family-style character meal restaurant. If you want a character dining experience, book a breakfast instead of a lunch or dinner, you`ll getting the same character experience and save some money too.
The Seas with Nemo & Friends is interesting for young and old. Try to be there for the dolphin show as this is the best way to see them swimming in the tank. All the family will also enjoy Turtle talk with Crush.
While you' re at this side of the park, enjoy the jumping fountains, watch the 3D attraction and take the Imagination ride. (Though I must say I preferred the original ride)
Free drinks- The words free and Disney are not often found in the same sentence but, stop off at the Cool Station by Cocoa Cola for free samples of drinks from around the world. Some are better than others but it’s fun to try something different.
Mission Space has been toned down since it first opened and you can now choose the level of intensity for your ride. Go for green if you dont want to be spun but you wont feel the same G force as those choosing orange.
If you are visiting Epcot with children, bring an extra set of clothes for the little ones. There are a couple splash pads in Future World that are a great place to cool down . Its great entertainment for toddlers who are not tall enough for the ' big' rides. One parent can supervise and then use rider switch. (Rider switch allows the waiting adult to skip the line. Ask a cast member at the ride’s entrance. )Its also a good way for the younger members to spend time while others in the group ride Energy.
Finally, take your time. Stop and play the games and enjoy the exhibits. Often the Innoventions sections get overlooked as people head for the rides, but this is one of those places were you should pause and interact.
