My Favourite Florida Restaurant
On my first trip to Florida we decided to take a trip down to Downtown Disney one early evening and thought we would perhaps try to find somewhere to eat. After a short while we decided that we would try the impressive looking Fulton’s Crab house
For anyone who has not yet had the delight of visiting Downtown Disney, Fulton’s crab house is a very impressive restaurant built in the shape of a paddle steamer which is moored on the side of the lagoon.
We stood on the bow of the steamer in the bar area and took a look at the menu, I ordered a very nice tasting Killians wild honey beer which had a delicious flavour, I think much better than some of the more bland American lager type beers.
One of my favourite foods is crab and there was a large crabbers feast on the menu but it was for two people, it listed several types of crab luckily for me my sister had come along and she decided she would share the crabbers feast with me.
We duly ordered the meals and were seated at the table and waited for the food to arrive. Shortly afterwards the waitress arrived with a couple of protective bibs which we duly put around our necks, much to the amusement of our children! Next we each got a pair of nutcrackers.
Then the crab arrived it was an absolutely massive tray full of different types of crabs legs and claws and I mean a HUGE tray, this was nothing like a crabbers feast I had ever had in England
The look on my sisters face told it all this was a serious meal for any crab lover, in fact I had never seen so many types of crab on a platter, well, we set too with the nut crackers and were soon deep in cracked crab claws and legs, there was plenty of meat on these crabs as they were much bigger that the ones we get back home, much like everything else in the USA!
Everyone else at the table had finished there food long before we had, my sister gave up the fight as she was completely stuffed but me being the elder brother I had to carry on to uphold the family honour
Not long after my sister had stopped eating I too was beaten, there was simply just too much but I had made a serious dint in the amount of crab that had been delivered to us, the crab was absolutely superb and it is definitely one of the best meals I have ever had anywhere in the world….. it was a meal to remember.
The service was excellent and if you love crab then Fulton’s Crab House is a MUST visit when you are in Orlando.
