Florida Mall Shopping
This is a traditional American Mall it is fully enclosed and air conditioned, so a great place to spend a day if you want to get out of the heat or if you get a rainy afternoon and with a fantastic two hundred and sixty shops to choose from there’s no reason to ever get bored!
It has been open just over 20 years but was completely renovated in 1999. It has a good selection of department stores as the anchors of the Mall, they include, Dillards, Saks Fifth Avenue, Macy’s, Sears, Nordstrom, JC Penney. There are also all the American favourites like The Gap, Bass, Guess, American Eagle Outfitters, Old Navy etc as well as some smaller stores selling handicrafts and some more unusual and seasonal products can be found on the carts located in the central areas.
As you would expect there is no shortage of places to eat, whether you are looking for a quick coffee and a pastry while you recharge your batteries in somewhere like Starbucks or lunch from one of the many counter service restaurants, you can even get a great dinner from a choice of restaurants with waiter service.
There is plenty of parking surrounding the Mall so it’s never too far to walk with all those bags of shopping and if you do manage to get round the Mall and still want more there are lots of other stores located close by including an enormous Toys R Us – very useful if you need to bribe the younger members of your family!
Located at 8001 South Orange Blossom Trail, Orlando Florida 32809 it is approx 20 – 30 minutes from most of the villa communities around Disney.
Its opening hours are 9am – 6pm Monday – Saturday and 10am – 6pm on Sundays.
We find this is a good mall for all our family as it really does have something for everyone, there is an Apple store so that keeps Dad happy, more handbags than even I can cope with and an Abercrombie and Fitch for the teenagers in the house. Another store that my daughter discovered last time we were over was Papaya it sells very up to the moment girls/ladies fashions really cheaply, my daughter came out with about a dozen tops, and jackets for just over a $100, which with the fantastic exchange rate works out at under £5 an item! She’s already requested a return visit on our next trip!
