Fun for all the Family at Daytona
If you visit the Daytona Beach area and do not want to sunbathe, do water or motor sports there is still plenty to do for all the family.
Everyone will enjoy a visit to Angelo and Phelps Chocolate Factory in Beach Street. In this factory they make handmade chocolates freshly every day. They are closed on Sundays but the rest of the week they do about five tours each day.
You can find Bellair Lanes and Entertainment Center Located at the Bellair Plaza Shopping Center. Here they have 32 computerised scoring lanes as well as a full-service lounge and snack bar.
There is loads of choice if you want to play miniature golf. Congo River Adventure Golf is an 18-hole course with waterfalls and streams as well as a Video arcade. It is open from 10:00 a. m. to 11 p. m. and on Friday and Saturday stays open until midnight. Fisherman’s Landing is within a mile of the beach and you can play golf on its two 18 hole courses. Mystik Harbour Race has a video game arcade, miniature golf, and driving range.
If you want ice skating go to Daytona Ice Arena. This has an official National Hockey League sized rink as well as recreational ice skating, figure skating, and speed skating. If you are there at the right time you may see one of the professional Daytona Beach Riptide league' s home ice hockey games. There is also a video arcade, snack bar, and full service pro shop here.
Although you may not want to do water sports everyone is sure to enjoy Daytona Lagoon. It is located across the road from the Ocean Walk Shoppes and is a great water park for all the family. It has 12 water rides, a giant wave pool and tubing river as well as Kraken' s Conquest a fast-paced 4-lane racer slide. In the family entertainment centre there is go-kart racing, miniature golf, laser tag, carousel and an arcade. You can also enjoy a drink or two at Gilligan' s Sport Pub. The water park is only open March to September but the family entertainment center is open all year round.
Finally if you just want to sit back and relax go to Ocean Walk 10 Movies at Ocean Walk Village Shoppes. You will have 10 movies to choose from with stadium seating and digital sound. If you use the car park you will receive three hours free parking with validation of your parking pass at movie theater box office.
There is plenty to do for all the family in Daytona.
